So you want to go out and buy the cheapest cell phone you can. Yet you don’t know where to start. Before you plunk down your hard earned cash, begin by asking yourself these two questions.

1. What do you want your mobile phone for? Meaning is it going to be a mainline of communication where you will be receiving the bulk of your telephone calls. Or do you want a phone just to have in case you need it while being out and about and a situation arises where you need a phone. Asking yourself this question will help us answer the second question rather instantly. Once you’ve decided how you’re going to use it, next question is:

2. Do you want a prepaid plan, or a cell phone contract agreement for possibly up to two years? According to some sources the average user needs 500 anytime minutes per month and would find that  the best value will come from a mobile phone contract and not a prepaid plan. This is especially true when you consider that you can usually get unlimited night and weekend minutes and sometimes mobile-to-mobile minutes depending on the cell phone service provider.
